DECEMBER 2019 — In this 3rd video in the series, you’ll visit Collège Lumière, which is currently under construction. Phase I is almost complete and fundraising for Phase II has begun. Eric Geiger, senior pastor of Mariners Church, who is visiting the school for the first time, discusses the legacy this school will leave for generations of children, both Haitian and American. The film begins with Eric’s faith adventure team gathering in the parking lot of the church, eager to embark on the journey that will affect their hearts forever.

SEPTEMBER 2019 — At their Christmas Brunch in 2018, the Mariners Women’s Ministry raised $12,000 to help fund a playground at Collège Lumière. In September 2019, Mariner’s senior pastor’s wife, Kaye Geiger, officially opened the playground after a day of celebration (including facepainting!) with Pastor Samuel’s kids from the Glory Glory Center. This video captures the kids’ delight as they played on a slide for the very first time.

MAY 2019 — In this 2nd video in the series, you’ll meet Pastor Samuel Metelus, a man with a vision for empowering Haiti’s youth and changing lives by building a private school in Haiti’s southern region of Torbeck. Produced by the Haiti Ministry of Mariners Church, the video follows Samuel as he describes his dream for the 50+ kids at the Glory Glory Center, his community, and his country. Since 2010, the Haiti Ministry has been working alongside Pastor Samuel. In 2016, the Haiti Ministry launched the Haiti Hearts Coaltion, an alliance of like-minded local entities working together to raise funds for Sam’s Private School Initiative. When completed, the school will educate 1,000 Haitian students per year, create opportunities for further education and employment, will give back to the community, and will be self-sustaining while also financially sustaining the Glory Glory Center and a host of other community development initiatives.
