Crises in Haiti Have Profound Effect on South, including Collège Lumière

It’s been just three weeks since Pastor Sam, Aunald, and Naomie kicked-off Collège Lumière’s inaugural school year, and already they’ve had to close the school due to the deteriorating conditions in their country. Current crises include political instability, food insecurity, continued disaster recovery, violent gangs, and a fuel shortage that has brought the country to its knees. Until the gangs reopen the roads, allowing fuel deliveries to resume, the country will remain powerless… and Collège Lumière will remain closed. It’s not the start we expected to it’s inaugural year.

Collège Lumière Opens Its Doors with 300+ Students

Despite civil unrest, a global pandemic, an assassination, and an earthquake followed by a tropical storm… we are thrilled to announce that Collège Lumière has opened its doors to its first class of 300+ students. Though there are still some items that need to be finished (painted, etc.) or built (like the soccer fields and basketball courts), Collège Lumière is ready to educate Haiti’s future generations, and we couldn’t be more proud of Sam and his team!!
