Congratulations ISOM Class of 2018

Congratulations are in order for the first graduating class of the Ecole Internationale de Ministère et de Leadership Chrétien, Torbeck!

The first graduating class of the Ecole Internationale de Ministère et de Leadership Chrétien in Torbeck.

Several years ago, pastors Samuel (far left) and Aunald (Ronald, far right) approached the Haiti Ministry about financing the launch of a bible school that could educate Christian pastors in Torbeck and surrounding areas. Pastor Aunald and his wife, Naomi, had matriculated at ISOM (International School of Ministry), Port-au-Prince, and they wanted to bring the same formal education to the Church of God by Faith network pastors in southern Haiti, many of whom had been pastoring for decades without any formal training.

Thanks to the generosity of Michael and Kelsey Irvins of Mariners Church, Sam and Aunald welcomed the first class of students to Ecole Internationale de Ministère et de Leadership Chrétien (International School of Ministry & Christian Leadership), Torbeck, back in 2015.

Students met for hours every Saturday in the Communauté de Gloire church at the Glory Glory Center.

Founded by Dr. Berin Gilfillan, ISOM is the world’s largest video Bible school with more than 20,000 training sites in 150 nations. ISOM has two major distinctives not found in many other programs. Dr. Gilfillan assembled the greatest teachers on earthand asked each of them to share (record) their life message with the Global Body of Christ. Today, the curriculum includes messages recorded over a period of 25 years, including messages from Jack Hayford, AR Bernard, TL Osborn, Joyce Meyer and Reinhard Bonnke. And these messages have been translated into over 70 languages!

A pilot group of 24 students enrolled in ISOM at the Glory Glory Center, under Sam’s and Aunald’s mentorship, and worked through tremendous family trauma, financial hardships, housing problems, transportation issues, and riots to attend class regularly. Following the devastation of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016, class was suspended for months while the students (ranging in age from 18 to 50+) helped their families rebuild homes and replant crops, but all returned to complete the program once it restarted.

September 2018 marked the completion of classes for all involved. On December 9th, Pastor Samuel will host ISOM Torbeck’s first-ever graduation ceremony, at which 12 Diplomas of Bible Studies and 12 Certificates of Bible Studies will be awarded to 24 committed Christian leaders, each of whom is well equipped to preach the Gospel and share the love of Jesus Christ in their local churches and throughout their communities.

Students will be awarded their diplomas and certificates in a ceremony on December 9, 2018.
